Aldermen Islands and Tairua Fishing. Coromandel Fishing report week end July 17. Fishing Tairua, Pauanui, Alderman Islands, New Zealand. Fishing jigs and softbaits.
A week that started off with some nice fish, and just got better and better and BOOOM...a blinder near the end.....big kingfish...big snapper.....read on.....and enjoy the photos!!
Dave Gerasklis from Australia kicked the week off with us. The first day out after a big storm had come through the week before and we were fishing some big seas, Dave got us on the board with this nice kingfish caught on a jig. Stuff Dave (everyone knows you get more go on Milo!)

Dave's girlfriend Tiffany wasn't missing out on the action and she had an epic fight with a nice sized kingi too!! Both fish on blue jigs, Zest Blue Mackeral and Katch1 Blue Spear

JP from YeeHaa snuck out on the same day and managed to wet a line, getting seriously pulled to the rail on our 100 Jig Wrex

And another nice kingfish comes aboard

We finished off with a few nice snapper on the way home, Dave with one for the dinner table

Kerry Earl from Fulton Hogan brought a few clients out with us the next day and they all did very well...Dave was the star of the show, hooking the first fish on Kerry's Stella 10000 and Daiwa Monster Mesh rod....

Not bad.....

But this is better....

Hanas got into the action as well....

And Aaron with another Alderman Island kingfish, nice one mate.....

Again the boys finished up with some snapper to close the account off for the day, Lime Tigers in 5" working a treat

Friday was when all the big fish cut loose though and pink jigs were where it was at to start...Anthony Nicholas with the first fish to be snapped by the camera...pulled the scales down to 20kg!!!! Caught on a KAtch1 pink spear jig on Jig Star 350 rod and Ocea Jigger 4000p. Happy chappy!

That was one of a double strike. Dean Graham did very well landing this one of around 12kg on the Jig Wrex 100!!Zest Curved Slider in Pink.

That JigWrex 100 getting another work out..this light rod has taken some punishment and getting stretched to the max once again....

Once again Zest curved slider in pink doing the damage on a very good kingfish. Clive Mackay with a biggie

Tomorrow the All Blacks take on the Wannabes and Adam was in supporters uniform wondering what haka the All Blacks are going to do, we all know who is going to win this encounter.....fish of the day, last kingfish before we headed off for some softbait action. 20.5kg on the scales caught on Ocea Jigger / Jig Star 350 and 400gm Zest Curved Slider in purple.

Another look...yep...a cracker of a fish!!!

And we finished off with some perfect conditions for softbaiting the reefy shallows around the Alderman Islands. Nothing better than casting to where you know fish are going to be holding and getting smashed as the bait sinks below the surface, chartreuse was working

But the ever faithful Nuclear Chickens produced the best snapper of the day, 11 pounds and put up an awesome fight in the shallows
