Ken, Geoff and Rob's Epic Adventure - Kingfish to 30kg and Snapper to 6kg
Ken travelled through NZ earlier in the year with his wife and came out for a fish. He had a ball on the kings and instantly knew his mates would be dead keen for some of this action too so when he got back he teed up a lads trip to get some more time on the kings and hopefully some big snapper as well.
To make sure they got into some big fish he booked up five days of fishing, and as you can see below it certainly paid dividends......
First drop off the trip and Ken got spanked by one that took him to the gunnels, next drift and Geoff has the first for the trip.

Ken got the arms warmed up on a sashimi sized one

All the fellas got into the kings on Day One and Rob aka Burt was squeeling blue murder on this one, little did he know what was in store for him later on in the trip.....

We devoted a fair bit of time that day to chasing some reddies, the fellas keen as to get some big snaps on the board, we opted for old fashioned bait and burley and plenty of it....

Rob got peeled by the first bait in the water, next up Geoff's pillie got hammered, the Daiwa Certate was wound up a few notches, wound up some more, and this munter of a snapper was still pulling string, all held together and a VERY nice snapper came to the boat - O for Awesome!

Rob got his eye in and was dubbed the snapper king when a steady procession of fish this size started coming to the boat, he started slaying them!!

Day Two and Geoff getting dealt to by one on the JM200 - not a NZ kingi trip until you get your pants pulled down by one!!!!

The fellas got into a nice line of average sized fish on jigs on Day Two, Ken on the JM350

Geoff loving the JM200 and nailing some nice fish on it

Snappers hitting the jigs too

Go Geoff!!

Terrible place the Aldies!!

The livie tanked stocked up with makkas and Tobes has the boys heading out for Day Three

Geoff with a nice one on the livie

Ditto for Ken

This one looks like a HORSE though, Smiths AMJ bent to the max

Yeeeahhhhhrrrr, 28kgs est of Aldies kingfish

Burt with another one on the jig

Ken about to put a tagged fish back in the drink

Geoff cracks 20kg

And Ken with the last of an awesome run of fish for the day!!!

Day Four

A bit slower but a nice line of fish at the G Spot

The Ken nabbed a nice 15kg king to blood his new Stella 5000 and G Loomis rod - smile says it all!!

After a lay day the guys were already for their fifth day of fishing and it was all on again, multiple hook ups the norm

Then bingo - Burt squeeling on the fish of the trip, PE7 at sunset and JM350 maxed out big time!!

30kg's of Aldermen Island kingfish - what a way to finish!!!!

WELL DONE FELLAS!!!!
