Rob Tapert trip June 2011

Report and pics from Tobes

Long time customers Rob and Boulder were back for two days chasing some big models fish out on the pins. There were alot of fish hanging higher up in the water column which meant very few fish were lost to the reef. Live baits were the key as usual catching a bucket load of fish and to keep fish under the boat for the jiggers to have a shot at. With some drifts going the length of the pin and up to 10 fish a drift pretty common.

Rob had a blinder of a trip nailing 18 kings on his first day and 12 before lunch on day two!

Boulder takes up from where he left off after his Boulder Guiding trip with carl a few days ago and strait into top fish, 14 fish today kept the big guy busy and througherly testing his gear.

The new Titanium JM300 getting a solid test!

JP from Yeehaa joined us at the wharf for the next day with the fish still biting hard. He had a great day on the jigs and then finally succome to live baits as the jig bite died off. Fist drop and hes into a solid fish in the late teens on the white/silver Rocket.

The boys were pretty knackered by 1 so the call was made to go into the Aldies for some stickbaiting. After a hour of throwing sticks around we were rewarded for our efforts.
