Jason Ison Fishing Trip June 2011
Report from Capt Tobez
Jase and his crew got blown out in May so rebooked their 3 day adventure for early June, luckily for them they snagged a fishable three day window in between the winter winds and set about getting to grips with their Epic experience. Most of them had not caught much more than a Sydney king and with all our hopes high we set about getting some rather elusive maccies off Pauanui. Found big schools being chased hard by barracouda we slowly picked up our lot and headed to the pins.
First Drop a double for Sean and Bob - might be a good day mee thinks!

Nice warm up fish for Shane

Second drop a TRIPLE! Way to go lads

Wals first taste of kingi's...nice aye mate!

Fish start growing as the current picks up - Jase here has a ripper!

Sean adds another to his belt

The boys had nailed about 25 fish so far and it was time to see what these new Daiwa's Luvias Carl had on the boat were made of. A small livie with a little sinker and the boys had a blast. Sean starts things off a mean little king for the size of the gear

Bob has a crack and steps it up a few kg's

Plenty more fish came over the side in the avo and the boys were fair shattered on the ride home
Day 2
The Maccies were balling up hard and pretty easy to catch. I knew there had to be a predator in there that could pull string, so once we had our maccies fo rthe day I set about slow trolling a fish up for the lads - only one fish for our efforts but a beaut at that for Jase

Back out on the pin things had got fresh but the fish size was up there as Wally found out

ANother day of doubles - the boys were happy as hell fishing 2 rods and this method prooved very sucessful with over 40 fish for the day

Primo piccie Jase!

day 3
Deckie Lee joined us for the day as the fish are somewhat angry at the side of the boat and i was feeling it - we all had a blast on a very calm day with very few sheep jokes slipping out
but alot of laughs..Jase picks up from where he left off

and steps up to the 20kg club - solid fish!

Another big day on the reef for the lads with a solid 35 fish before 1pm.

A few quiet ales back at Carls and plans for next year are in place. Thanks a bunch guys for such an awsome three days!
