Epic Adventures - Matt Saxon Two Day Fishing Trip
Report from Capt Tobez on Sanity
I had the pleasure of a father son duo booking the boat for three days, day one was rained out with 40knt winds from the SE. Day 2 dawn with glassy calm seas, and big swells!..I managed one measly kahawai livie at the wharf while I waited for them to turn up and soon Sanity was ploughing up the sets as we steamed out to the Aldie's. Matt had been saving for this trip for over a year and was keen to start things off with a bang!...which he did!
First fish on the first drop - it don't start much better

Second fish on the second drop...he truly couldnt believe how much these fish fight!

A sucker for punishment he did it again!...choice bro!

Geoff is turning 70 next month so i was a little worried about hand strength and reels going swimming, well, him actully going swimming- I diddnt need to worry, he was tower of strength and didnt mind a bit of metallica! He starts the ball rolling on the one and only livie of the trip - had 3 second nana nap and was into it again. This time the pink JM250 did the damage

The amount of doubles we got in the two days was just amazing

a nice result from another double

and their at it again - double trouble - this time Geoff was hooked into a 19kg fish on the 4kg braid - the little Synit Hellbent was bent to the max and the stella 4000 was singing once again

another great double result - this fish to Matt in the mid 20's - to heavy to stand up and hold it he rekoned.

Geoffs first kiwi snapper taken on a cyclops

Geoff has a turn with the OJ4000

and decides that the Hellbent, needs to be bent again - this fish on a popper from a boil up! - damm that rod is good

Matt gets delt some pain on the stella dialed up - and did he hurt?..oh yeah!

Got them both on one side of the boat again and booyaa!

Matt gets a beauty

"rolling rolling rolling"

"keep those puppies rolling"

by now matts feeling the burn hard but mans up and continues to work, JM pink rocket

and Geoff finally cracks the keg - 21kg on the scales

a new PB - tagged and ready for release

You can doooeeeet! - yeah floss u da man

Geoff mate this is a great picture - pure enjoyment, one happy chappy

Seeing the old man whipping it hard on the Hellbent Matt jumps in and nails on on a popper

Father and son trip - Highly reccommend it to anyone - fully stoked!

just one more floss?...your beached azz bro!

The best fishing trip of their lives they rekon, the banter, the weather and the fish!
