Epic Adventures - Tairua Fishing Charter Gallery - Mid July Fishing Pics

Pics from Epic Adventures 12 - 21 July 2010

The kingis are ON!  Plenty of solid kings below, majority on jigs, and we've had a week where kings have been smashing jigs solidly.

This week we had the pleasure of hosting the Australia TV Show Mark Berg's Fishing Addiction.  The format of the fishing show is a little different to most, being that each show is based around surprising one of their viewers to come and fish with Mark in various places around Australia.  We'd been speaking to Mark earlier in the year and saved a few dates for him mid July to give away as a prize, one minute Royce and his 14 year old son were having a family BBQ, the next minute they were being surprised by Mark and flown across the Tasman to fish with us.  Mark couldn't have picked a better father and son, they were just awesome to have on the boat.  I will leave what went on for those who catch the show to see, but we got into some awesome snapper and kingfish action, here's a few piccies...

Day One, first Kingi to Royce, he got a bit of a shock as to how hard they pull.

Travis with his first.

The fellas went real hard on the jigging on Day One and didn't stop, rewarded with some nice kings

Check the conditions!  Perfect filming weather!

Day Two we found a good patch of livebait and loaded up, the kings were a better quality today....this was a double to Royce and Travis

Travis hooked up on a bigger model with the papparazzi in full force

Monster!

Dad with a monster NZ kingfish!

Dave Rodgers came out with three other kingfish virgins in tow, and we just jigged through the day, Dave with the first fish, from the first drop

NIgel loaded up on the JM300 and River to Sea Spike 300gm

A sweet 17kg kingfish

I handed my new Jigging Master Three Kings special 200gm jig rod over to Nig to try out, with a 230gm spike jig on, what an awesome action....

And another on it, Nig's getting a good line of fish by this stage

Greg Prosser with a nice kingfish on the jig

Nig loaded up once again on the JM TKS 200

Dave with another tagged fish ready to be released

The kings were coming thick and fast by this stage, Greg with another

These aren't huge kings but they still pull hard as, get it right or they will still have you in the reef, Dave with another quality Aldermans kingfish

Greg with the last of the day before we gapped in back to the coast, still buzzing about an awesome days jigging

Another boatload of kingfish virgins jumped aboard, in less than perfect conditions, we had another mission to get everyone on to their first kingfish.  Scott Gillam here with the first of many that hit the decks

Gideon with his first

And Deon getting his first kingfish on his 16th birthday

Scotty with another nice king

He had a sweet jigging action and was loaded up on fish most drops

Solid kingfish!!

Another nice fish about to be released

Time for a bit of spin action, the JM400 spin and Stella getting a workout

Double on!

Took my mate Carl Sanders Edwards and Tobes out for a sneaky evening spapper fish one night, only one fish but it went 17lb!

More kingfish virgins with their first - Mark from ASB showgrounds with his first kingfish

You'd never see someone who went harder all day on the jig rod than ED, pleasure to have on the boat cracking jokes all day long, rewarded with some nice fish too...loaded up here on the JM400

HIs mate Masaki putting another nice tagged kingfish back
