Kingi Jigging and Snapper Softbaiting Gallery and Report for Nov 16 - Nov 21
A morning snapper softbaiting session off the Sugarloafs produced this nice fish for our Matama chippie!

And a sweet one for Seaton too!

We had a close up encounter with a pod of Orca

Coming right up to say gidday, this one cruised right under the boat!

Then it was kingi time!! Seaton into a nice fish!

First kingi on a jig

A nice one for Seaton about to be released

Boulder was back for another trip within the space of days, putting up a JM cap for fish of the day

John was in with the first one of the day, his best kingi and first ever on a jig, a nice 19kg fish

Murray with a huge 25kg fish that had him huffing and puffing but put our new Jigging Master 400 spin and Stella 20000SW from YeeHaa to the test and the gear came up trumps!! AWESOME FISH MURRAY WELL DONE!!

Chris Potts from the UK joined the lads that came down from Auckland and got a taste of NZ kingi fishing!

And it was awesome to see Jacob getting his first kingi - and a great one at that!! On his Jigstar 350

Time for Jacob to get into some snapper fishing in the avo on our way back, Boulder made a big call as the rod bent over, "Give you two jigs from my jig bag if it is a snapper over 20 pound..." pretty soon into the fight it looked as is he would be fronting up, wasn't far off but safe -18 pound!!!!

And John took out snapper of the day with this 20 pounder (photo doesn't do it justice next to the big man! this is a stonker of a snapper!!) caught on squid

Murray taking away the JM cap from Boulders online tackle cave

Another nice snapper the next day

And the JM 400 spin getting another workout!!

Ryan Hutchings and mates joined us the next day and the first fish hammered a 300gm Broken Arrow, Matt was the lucky angler on the JM300

Was a while in between drinks before Ryan spotted some action and we were amongst it in a flash jigs down and James came up solid, hooked on our Smith rod which has just been rebuilt by JP from YeeHaa Fishing Tackle in Auckland, some much needed surgery after being punished day in day out this year! Once again it has come up trumps with a best of a fish, this came from a double hook up and the Stella 20000FA was screaming, we had the two fish swimming around each other, not good on braid but the guys held it all together and we managed to sink the gaff into this horse of a fish!! Check the depth of it!!!!

This fish was half the size at 15kg but still put up an awesome scrap on a Talica 12 and JM 350

And once last fish to Dion before we called it quits and a few Coronas were had back at Pauanui wharf to toast James' fish!
