Tairua Jig Fishing Charter Gallery Nov 14 and 15
Graham McKenzie aka Boulder brings out a regular bunch of guys and gals to test out various wares from his online tackle cave! Saturday we struck a blinder with a hot bite in the middle of the day.
Jig Importer Scott Stonex from Action Imports, slipped past in his little centre console Seriola as we lined up the first drift and yelled out a little wager, "$10 bucks on the first kingi Boulder". No sooner had the words left Scott's mouth than two lifts of the rod into the drift Boulder was into his first kingfish and a very respectable one of that!

All the more sweeter for Boulder the $10 fish was caught on one of Scott's Action Slider Jigs!

Ian was into the next fish, which turned out to be the winning fish for Boulder's Jigging Master cap for fish of the day. Caught on a Stella 8000 and Synit rod.

Monty was all prepared, this is one serious jig belt!

First fish of the day bearing a cookie cutter mark and destined for the smoker, on the green spear.

Monty was on fire and was soon hooked up to more hard fighting Tairua kingfish.

Boulder getting peeled by one on his Avet

And a nice fish falls victim to Boulders custom hand painted jig

His new Kojak special was getting a good blooding today!!

Lets take a closer look at that jig....

Ben with a solid fish taken on our Tyrnos 10 and JigWrex 100 - great fish on light jigging gear!!

Ben about to release another fish back into the depths

Reece about to release another kingfish

Another fish for Ben on a Kilwell Broken Arrow 200gm jig

Getting taken to the bottom on the JigWrex 400 and Stella 20000

Multiple hook up, Reece is hooked up on the other side of the boat too....

And after all three fish decided to circle each other we still landed them all for a few photos before release

One last fish, the arms are pretty tired now....!!
