Tairua Fishing Gallery for 2,3 and 4 July

First up was James Packman from Australia who came to New Zealand for a week and we made sure he went home with sore arms, he came fishing on his last day before flying out and we wasn't dissapointed with a nice line of kingis.

Here is James rapt with his first! James was adamant he wanted to release all of his fish today and see them live for someone else to catch, a quick photo before release....

Another nice kingi caught on a Zest Curved Slider in purple 400gm

James stopped this very nice kingi in its tracks on our Ocea Jigger 4000p reel

James swears he will be back for some more New Zealand fishing action in 2010.

The next day the boys from YeeHaa fishing tackle was back with more clients having their first crack at the jigging game and they were delighted with the results

Tony with a nice fish on his new Jigging Master spinning rod (400) and Stella 20000FA, near the end of the fight

And this is a very nice fish, you will notice he has been kitted out very well by the guys at YeeHaa!! Jigging Master gloves, Jigging Master gimbal belt, and the very best in rod and reel....this fish hit a Katch1 spear jig in blue 400gm

The two Tony's - Tony from YeeHaa in Auckland and his client Tony and very stoked with the days fishing!!

The rest of the anglers got into some very nice fish that day as well, this time our Stella gets a workout!!

And a very nice fish falls to the Jigging Master Alien jig in Pink/Blue 400gm

Howard was back for some more Epic Adventures fishing action in Tairua

And this kingfish fell to the Blue spear jig as well, another happy angler, about to release a nice Tairua kingfish

Yet another Tony (otherwise known as 'the Orange Ruffie') hooked up solid on his JM150, a very light jigging rod which is great fun on kingfish of any size

And Alex hooked into this nice kingi on one of the inner reefs

The fish of the day Saturday was the 'one that got away', not often the fish have the better of our top of the line jigging gear, and very rare for us to be busted by a fish these days, but the Stella wound to full drag (20kg of drag!) couldn't stop a fish estimated at around 30kg++ which was hell bent on getting to the bottom ,that is the way things roll sometimes, but it is still out there for someone to catch!  The angler swears he will be back for some unfinished business with that fish!!
