Keith Cochious and mates were down with us next, Smith rod and Stella getting a workout first thing

Multiple hook ups a plenty! Both these being released

Another one going back in the drink

Keith with a nice king destined for the smoker

They got bigger through the day!  This one about 18kg

16kg

Keith getting a workout by one on the JM400

A nice fish about to be released

A few close in pins holding some good fish now

And even closer to home, within minutes of the bar, another nice fish on the jig - this fish came from a bust up on squid on the surface, there was ink all over the ocean and kingis smashing up whole squid for lunch!! Kingi was released to fight another day

Craig Simkek with the first one from two days he did with us, he would have caught 35 kingis himself over two days - machine mate!!! This one getting released

Dave Kilbourne from Waihi Beach with a real nice fish destined for the smokehouse

Craig again with another

Don from the USA spent two days with us and here he is getting pulled to the rail on our JM350 and Talica 12ii

This day belonged to Brad though who joined Don, Craig and Dave and went hard all day, kingis started this size

And then we tried a spot that had been holding some good sign for three weeks, but this was the first fish we had hooked there in a month, it was a monster....Brad holding on for dear life!  JM400 and Trini 40N getting tested!

Starting to hurt now!!!

And a whopper of a fish gets boated - easily over 30kg, our estimate before releasing the fish was 32kg - awesome Brad!!! This is a monster of a fish for the Aldermen Islands mate!!! Jig was a Zest super Deep in green and blue

There was no stopping Brad now, this time on his JigWrex 400 and Stella 6000, kingi of about 18kg, again released

.And once again we tried some closer pins with a nice line of smaller fish taking jigs right under the boat - awesome!

Don and Craig were out for more this next day, joined by Sam and Liam, regulars on the boat.

Don with a nice fish about 18kg.

Craig with another from a nice line taken on our Stella 2000SW.

Sam with one that hit a Pink Shine softbait - one hell of a fight on light gear.

Craigs arms are starting to get a wee bit sore by now!

Liam with his first of the day.

Liam bloods his new Stella 20000SW and JM400 - good rig :-).

Don had his jigging action downpat by now and was slaying them.

And they were gettin bigger.

Everyone was hooked up on most drifts.

Liam lovin the Smiths action.

Sam with his fish of the day.

Liam with one of 11 he got on the day, all but one releaed- arms were jelly!.

The next day we had a welcome half day outing, a nice cruisy one with the Andrews family, their first fishing outing, dolphins greeted us on the way out.

Jigging some reefs very close to Tairua we picked up some nice fish for their first, this one nearly dragged Jess in to start of with - a big suprise for her!!!

Luke with a 10kg fish - his biggest ever.

And one about 11kg for Jake..

Luke with another on an Action jig

Plus a few hard fighting kahawai to wrap up a nice morning on the water.

Our next morning saw some interesting conditions, Anesh Patel brought out a bunch of mates and family from the UK, 10 knots variable forecast ended up being 30 knots south east - ugly, but the fish weren't complaining...a nice fat 22kg kingi to end the week!!!
