I just wanted to pass on a very big thanks for yesterday. We were buzzing. We had an awesome day. I enjoyed Toby as a skipper, he did a great job, his enthusiasm was huge. I am always concerned that charter skippers have long days, and must get fairly tired, we did very well yesterday, and I would have been happy enough to come home a bit early, Toby wouldn’t let that happen, and he told me sort myself out – ha ha ha.  Toby explained everything I wanted to know, I learnt a lot – the sort of lessons that would take very keen fishermen years to figure out on their own. Awesome trip, Carl a very professional run fishing charter , you were pretty much busy from whoa to go quietly going about the business of putting us on to some awesome kingies, and with heaps of good advice, the gallery photos were fantastic, and good report on the net, would certainly come out again, let the dust settle for a while, and then check those dates, catch and release is a great way to preserve our fishing stocks. Firstly, it's been quite a while since I last went on a Charter Fishing Trip, and I congratulate you on both the quality of the equipment available on the boat for the anglers use, and also the enthusiasim of skipper 'Toby' aboard 'Sanity' out of Whitianga. Toby hasn't lost the 'passion' for putting his clients onto good fish, and his experienced advice certainly helped me land some good fish. The results of the fish I weighed in at the Grand Tavern Hunting & Fishing Club's 25th Anniversary open comnpetition are: Heaviest Kingfish @ 30.5kg. My biggest Snapper weighed in @ 7.565kg, which got me third heaviest snapper and the heaviest by a club member. I am now the proud owner of three new rods reels with some cash thrown in as well. THANK YOU! For the best ever fishing experience and in my 70 years I have fished with charter captains/guides in Ireland,USA,Vanuatu, Norway, Hawaii,Tahiti, New Guinea, Sydney NSW and Broome in WA. The way that you firstly found the fish miles from port then constantly moved the boat to keep us on them, then moving to find more fish,your attention to detail and your very welcome advice on the best way to jig for Kingies and the correct way to present soft plastics to Snapper etc was second to none. I have learnt much from you. The other thing that impressed us was your cheerfull demeanor and willingness to go the extra yards to make our visit so special. We felt we were fishing with a friend. Carl is a great guide and charter operator. His is a first class operation with great equipment and classy fish to catch. He goes even further than that, his hospitality is marvelous, not too many blokes will clean and cook up your catch and invite you around to his place to eat it. What a treat the sushi kingi and the Slender Tuna (better than Albie I reckon) and the macadamia crumbed kingi washed down with some Corona and some Barbados Rum etc. Carl you’re a champ mate. I was recently looking to purchase a new boat but after my trip with Carl on Epic Adventures I have decided that it is more practical for me to head out with Epic Adventures instead and have the a wealth of experience and knowledge at my disposal. The boat and all the gear that is provided is top of the range and Carl does not hesitate to offer any of his tackle to the crew. I must say I had high expectations after reading your articles in the Fishing Coast to Coast magazine and speaking to some Tackle store owners here in Auckland who had been talking you up big time as well as browsing your very good website.  The charter EXCEEDED my expectations. The jigging for Kingi's was outstanding. Catching fish on every drift with multiple hook-ups the norm. My arms still hurt 3 days later!
