Always good when regulars and mates are out. This week regulars Mike and Hayley from Oz were back for their sixth trip, and joining them were Luke and Darren (Darren being good friends with our mate Kelly from Aussie). Darren and Luke got a days fishing in before Hayley and and Mike arrived and managed to get the arms warmed up well and truly. Blair joined the crew this day being a Pauanui fisho he was keen to suss a bit more info on the fishery and got into some nice kings

Blair spotted something in the water on the way back in and so some lures were towed the rest of the way, I ran over some marks from last weeks marlin action and Darren yelled as a marlin all lit up came in behind the Black Magic Green Meanie on the long corner and then whacked THAT lure again, the Bonze Apache in Troppo skirt....he went troppo too, not happy at all and put up a good show, peeling off a good 500m of line in the process as the fellas cleared the gear, then it was the hard yards for Darren to get it all back!
Half an hour later and the boys had the honour of sticking the tag into a very fresh stripey
As you can see they don't muck around when it comes to this lure, had a hard time wrenching it back from him as he went a little nanas

Next day Hayley and Mike arrived and with the bar up we towed to Whiti, two minutes into bait catching duties and Hayley had an epic fight on her hands on her little snapper stick, a 40 minute kingi of about 14kg!!!
Out wide Mike's custom jig stick (reconditioned $10 bait stick!) got a work out!

Next up Ladies Comp, this was what Hayley had been warming up for all week the word around town was she was the one to watch out for...., cuzzie Tarns was part of the crew too, this was Tarn's first tustle with da kingis! Jigging Master 200 3 kings special loaded!

Plenty of others came from Mayor but we shot back to the Aldies for the last hour or so and Bingo....Hayley was on big time on the JM 350.....an epic fight with a big audience of boats too.....a well deserved fish!
