More July Kings - Various day trips on Epic and Sanity July 2011

Report from Tobez

A two boat trip out of Tairua with a the boys from Manakau. A slight lump from the SE greeted us at the dairy for bait gathering which soon turned into a little bit jiggly on the way out. Diddnt stop the bite tho, the fish were still chewing and loved out live baits!

Brad does well in the conditions and is in awe of the power of kings

Nice fish!...and a great disguise lol

Another top fish

this fish faught above its weight only to be nipped in the tail by a mako at the boat

Jarrad was new to kings as well but nailed them all morning

From there it had been two long long weeks off the water with really bad weather, I was beginning to think mother nature had been in a bad mood for far too long. Finally the weather cleared and Sanity made it off the trailer and burst into life, raring to go! Russell Speight was back for a third time and had bought some mates along to get a taste of the green demons!

Callum was not too sure what was about to hit him, he sure found out in a hurry with his 20kg fish

after a quick rest he was back into it with this fine fish!

Liam was next up to bat and scores!

Old seadog russ wasnt about to be outdone

Some new kit on Sainty at the moment - Kilwell Talon 350 with a Tica Talisman that so far is performing very very well

Next trip it was off to the Mercs! It had been about 2 months since I last went up to Crackerjack, with the current finally going the right way to make a day of if. I pointed sanity north on a glassy calm day and we made excellent time. The fish finder lit up with vast amounts of bait and i knew we would be in a for a good day. Fish were plentiful and the boys had a day packed full of non stop kingfish action!

Mark had been in the country for only a week and had caought nothing more than a cod in Scotland - Its always outstanding to see a kingfish virign in action and he had it mastered.

Mohammad chipped in for one to take home to his family. He had a outstanding day on the jigs and live baits

Shafeel no longer was stuck on a 55cm king

Shameel got the fish of the day...very nice!

Back to the Aldies todays crew were from all over the north island, finally the weather gods played ball for them as four trips were cancelled due to weather. Livies were eventually found and the boys set about catching some fish at the pins

Top fish for brad

And a twin!

And a nice double for jo and brad

And another!

Jo enjoyed his day

And tobes tops of the session with this beauty

Next up some time at the helm of Epic. Epic is one hell of a boat and proves it every trip, Ray and his mates joined me at the wharf bright and early for a day at the pins

First drop and aaron is welcomed to the pins

nice double for the boys

Horse was loving the day

Ray got his fare share and did superb on the snapper in the afternoon

Four days of man flu wernt going to let today slip by and Shane makes the most of the day

Another trip on Epic today.

There are still some large kingfish around and today produced a solid 32kg fish for Marty. A fantastic effort on the JMPE5.

A nice double for the boys

Paul nabs a new PB as the afternoon bite started to fire

Tonys got a bunch of experience in the marlin world and was enjoying the power of the kings today on the saltiga
