When you've got back to back Alderman Islands jigging charters booked for a week, you sort of hope the kingfish play ball!!  Well, we couldn't have asked for much more out of Tairua over the last week, the fishing has just been insane, big FAT kingfish hitting jigs left right and centre!  An awesome run of great clients who got stuck into some big fish and enjoyed some great days on the ocean!  This is what winter fishing in New Zealand is all about!

We've loaded up some of the best pictures from the epic week of fishing below, enjoy!!

Russel Rothwell from TopPro and Rustler fishing products with the first of the week on a Pink Williamson Benthos....

Bill Bell with a prime Aldermen Island kingfish on a pink Katch1 spear....

Ian Holmes with a cracker New Zealand kingfish on a pink Zest curved slider jig....

Bill with another one on the Pink spear......anyone noticing what the colour of the day was??

And Russell again with the fish of the day, a trophy fish of 20kg which was released to be caught again some day....

Noel Edwards puts his new Ugly Stick jigging rod and Saltist20 to the test!!

Mick Johnson with his first for the day on his TCurve

Noel gets into his second Tairua kingfish for the day and the Ugly Stick has been tested well and truly now!

Six months ago Mick couldn't walk with his back broken in six places......here he is six months later slaying kingis at the Aldies...on ya Mick!!!!  And on that pink spear again!

Elliot cracks into some epic fishing action before he heads back to Papua New Guinea

Mick goes down to 15pd softbait gear and a 7" Nuclear chicken works on a fat kingi on the soft bait gear...kingis just love them!!

And now for something heavier...skull dragging one on the Stella at full drag

Roy Baker with another big Aldermen Islands kingfish about to be released in prime condition

Are the lads having fun?  You bet....that Ugly Stick once again getting a work out

Roy with one caught on our Smiths and Stella combo about to be released

Sean Bruffus pretty stoked with his first kingi on the day...

And another cracker...both caught on Ocea Jigger, Jig Star 300 and Katch1 pink spear jig

As the day got brighter the orange jigs were the go.....25kg kingfish decided to ""Monster Mush"" our clients own jig rod.....three piece now...

Cracker of a day though......

Matt Kirke joined Bell Allen from Recruit IT for a lads weekend in Tairua and they had a ball on the kingis....

Ben a.k.a Pies with his first of the day

Bruce Campbell with one for the smoker

Matty again and the Blue King jig from Sportfishing NZ was the jig of the day, accounting for most of the bigger fish

Some more carnage as the Stella loses the handle.....

A long wind with no handle....

Doug Clarke gets his fish though after an epic fight as the Stella got demo'd

Bruzer again with another fat king that was released

And Matty with the King jig with a fatty

Arms are too sore to hold them up now....

Doug with the last one of the day.....time for some kingfish sashimi, macadamia crumbed kingfish and a few at Punters...

Next up was Garry Gorham and 3 mates from the Auckland Hospital. Garry with a nice fish here

The lads got and and done the job despite some average conditions, no time for a cup of tea today!

Jonesy with a nice fish

Pink jigs were the hot colour again today
