Epic Mid Nov 2011 Kingi and Snapper Action
Report from Carl
Ross and the Balls Deep crew were back for another quick NZ fishing excursion. The weather gods were nice to them, from the forecast it looked like they would get a day on a rest day then another fishing day before they got some rest before their trip home. Ended up suiting them well as they got a nice line of fish.

The boys came armed to the hilt with quality Jigging Master gear to add to our own arsenal

Plenty of Shimano bling too....

Steve got the boys off to a cracking start first drop

Vinnie with another solid cookie cutter marked fish

Plenty of squid chasing kings around, hence the cookie cutter marks

The legend Konishi from Carpetner was out having a play with the YeeHaa boys on the stickbaits

Vinnie on the rail again

Nice fish Vinnie

This greedy trev scoffed a little yakka lollie!!!

The boys resting up in comfort in between drifts

Wazdog tries out a new jig from Bite and nails it

And again

Kings luv this jig, it was hot all day!

Ross got slammed on the Blue Spike on Waz's 120gm overhead Kings, a beaut fish came aboard, high fives all round

Choice fish on the light stuff Ross!

Steve with another solid Aldies king, this time on a livebait

Age does his old man proud with a quality snap which scoffed a double whammy

The new 70's jig from Bite we named the Dirk jiggler, Wazdog nailed a real nice jig caught kingfish on it

Nice double to finish the trip

Boys cooking up a mean feed back at the pad

Top way to finish off a good few days, beer batter snapper and pasta washed down with some vino - choice!

Shamus, Ed, Craig and Nick did a few days with us as well. They were loving the laid back cruisy Tairua styles and some awesome weather. The fish were mainly hitting metal and plenty of them.
Craig gets the ball rolling with one on one of his own Aussie jigs

As does Shamus

Nick follows suit. There was a big school of trevs working, we'd pull right up next to them and the kings were about 20m below them and would smash the jigs

Ed gets the ball rolling on some bigger models

Shamus was just buzzing about anythign that came over the side

A sess inside the Aldermen Islands in 8-20m of water casting Nuc Chook jerk shad baits nailed us some nice snapper - this 8kg specimen pulled some serious string in the shallows - awesome snap on the new YeeHaa softie rod

Shamus with another nice kingfish on his Ripple Fisher jig rod

Craig with a solid 20kegger fish of the day

Nick nabs a nice snap on the new Shimano Citica on one of Sato from YeeHaa's slick Japanese slow jig rods

Some monster trevs and Craig nailed a beauty

Ed with some dinner

Craig with a sweet kingi on the JM 3 kings 120 and 120gm organge jig

Shamus with one on the Broken Arrow

And another on the old trusty Broken Arrow before we gapped it home for the guys to chill at their sweet pad. See you fellas next year!
