Sanity - Wicked Spring Fishing at the Mercury Pins and Red Mercs

The Mercury Pins have been going off over the last week with most days producing big lines of kingfish on the jigs, 20-40 kings has been the norm, the best days have seen 50+ fish over the course of the day.

There's been the odd nice snap amongst them too...

This great snapper was taken on a livie destined for a kingi 30m above the reef swimming with the ever present trevally schools that are in massive numbers.

a typical sized fish for the merc pins - catching 10 each certainly turns those arms to jelly

a new pb for this very happy angler

another PB in the bin - first ever kingi!...way to go

this is what they are here for - trevs in massive numbers, typically getting foul hooked on the quick stroke but this little fella got a bit greedy!

allready had one in the bin so this good sized fish went back to fight another day

Regular fisho - Jesse Harris (Jellyman) and his crew were back for thier 3rd trip out - Waldo playing a nie fish on the jigstar 350

steve lands a new personal best for him and one for home kill

after steves 6th fish he was getting a bit sore..face says it all

jigstar350's in action - these are great entry level rods that have accounted for numerous fish on Sanity

Ken starts the day rolling with a nice fish taken on his Blue Rose 200 spin

Ian hooks up with a typical size for the day

Ken has a ball catching kings that test the little stella

After 30 fish the boys are hammered and decide on a snapper fish in close at the mercs -Richard nails this 7kg fish on his first cast.

Regular fisho Rob Tapert an d his buddy Boulder have the boat to themselves for the day - Rob lands a great sized school fish which was to set the tone of the day.

Boulder has a new JM120 and Stella combo - this is a delight to fish with - and has a great time on the rail, 20 between two and they have had enough with sore backs and arms

Another Rob joins Kurt and the Ashley's on a day that we will never forget - the most fish caught on sanity in a day to date - what a day!Robs first legal kingi..a great way to start his day of 20 plus fish kings

Kurt a tru jigger starts his day in style - the first of his 20fish!..Epic day for him

Ashley gets over her dodgy fish in chips and finally christens her Z40 and Smiths spiral wrap - then it was time for a 6hr nap.

Big Ashley bloods his new jigstar 250 spiral and his OJ4000p

Just one of big ash's 20 odd fish for they day

rob enjoying himself

the fish were so thick they diddnt even need to be hooked in the mouth!..outstanding fishing

This rounded up what can only be decsribed as EPIC week on the kingfish - bring on the next week!
