The Balls Deep crew arrived for some more Kiwi fishing action and with a crap forecast for the week we had to pack a weeks fishing into one day. Thankfully the kingfish played ball and we nabbed about 35 plus a line of nice snapper. Age aka the newbie was on fire all day, this his first NZ king setting the scene for the rest of the day

He got them on jigs too, this one on a Blue rocket

A cracking 20 kegger, he's a bit f****d now

Waz with a beaut

RossG with another nice fish

That fella again

The fellas have really decked themselves out with some good kit, Three Kings rods all the way, plenty of Stellas and JM reels, real real nice kit, pity we only had one day to give them a flogging

Another real solid fish, a real nice line of fish at the G Spot

Steve gives it the thumbs up

When you're on fire you on fire!

Another beaut jig caught fish on the River to Sea spike

Steve gets some dinner in

Sean Cummings was a regular on jigging trips with us while he was chefing in NZ, hes now back in Melbourne but comes back to fish the Three Kings each year. He thought it was best his crew warmed up with some hard fighting Tairua kingfish before they did battle off the top of NZ! Mario was hurting after the first.....so was his JigStar 450....now a three piece, a wee bit of high sticking with the fish at the boat. they take no prisoners!

Sean being a purist when hard on the jigging and on the Orange Broken Arrow he was rewarded with some nice kings!

Same colour, bigger fish

Orange Zest Hardy jig this time, and a beaut king

Mario with a real solid fish which pulled the scales over 20kg, one of the boats beaten up Orange Broken arrows doing the business this time

More jigs, more kingfish

Mario testing out the new Nemesis rod the fellas were taking to the Kings

Does the damage...in fact this rod got the line share of the afternoons fish and there were plenty of them

Shafil and the boys braved some pretty average seas but came away trumos with around 30 kingfish thru the day. All on livies this lot apart from one nabbed by the skipper on the only jig dropped all day.
This one had been chomping on down!

Sore arms by the end of the day!

Garry nabbed his fair share including this fattie

And we rereleased one Ants had tagged with us three years ago

The Bonello family were back for a days Aldermen Islands action, Mark into the first of the day

Orange jigs once again getting the line share of the fish, in fact they were outfishing the livies today

Mr Mako was loving them too

Paul Bonello with a nice fish on the jig

Another quality fish pushing 20kg got chomped beside the boat and an Epic fight ensued on the PE8 and MC Works, we finally got a monster of a Bronzie boatside.....you can see from the girth this was easily over 200kg, the nose beside the cabin and the tail way behind the motor, a huge fish.....Paul got a hell of a fright when the leader went and the Bronzie tapped him goodbye with his tail!!!!

With the Bronzie gone the livies got hit again, Paul with a new PB

I'll be back says Mark - see ya in Oct mate!

Plenty of other stuff biting jigs a bit deeper too, like this Gemfish, yum in the smoker

The odd marlin still around.....Drew Edwards in Xtrkta nabbed two this week on livebaits at the Hook This one going 140kg - stuff mate!

John Bunt had the boat to himself and hooked into 20 or so kings himself, this one his fourth

the arms were still going strong at the end of the day, this one the fish of the day

What a top fella to have on the boat and with mint conditions and the fish biting hard through the day it is one we'll both remember well

The G Spot has been fishing well and a session there produced plenty of kings like this

Snapper like this

And trevs like this

Fellas let most of the kings go and opted for a nice feed of snaps....

Marko from the BNZ brought out the Heartland boys for some team bonding, the forecast wasn't flash at all but we had an inkling it would be quite workable til midday when it would really blow in from the South so we boltedout and got to work. Andrew here bonding with an Aldies kingi!

Nice one mate!

Marko had to chuck a sneaky line over and got into on hinself

Andrew sticks it to another on the livebait

Simon with a quality fish

Craig was doing the Xterra the next day so didn't want too much of a workout, one was enough before he sat back and enjoyed the entertainment of seeing the other guys punished!....is that an O for awesome?

He couldn't help himself and threw down a jig

and came up trumps with one on the Broken Arrow

Nice to sneak one past the weather forecasters and we were in early for some epic hospitality at Epic HQ then the Cyrpus Tree....a day and night to remember.......
