Cuvier Fires up.

Report from Toby

It was awsome to have Tom and Nick back on Sanity for their third trip back to nail some kings. The weather had delt a bit of a blow to their five day plans and only managed to get out for three days Day one was hard with reports from white island and tauranga having a tough time too, fortunatly the fish changed thier mood and the boys started to fire up and get bent.

Having spent more time up around Cuvier lately new grounds were discovered and sure enough..kingies were chewing. Deckie was back after her little foray in tonga catching tropical species and bought back a bit of good luck with her. Crackerjack was full of life but alot of small fish so a move to the new ground was called for and sure enough the afternoon fishing was fantastic

Nick meets a Cuvier king

One of many many doubles for the afternoon, fish were flying everywhere and the boys diddnt want to stop for piccies, they were here for fish not posing!

Some gentle persuasion and Nick strikes a pose

and again

and again

time for ultralight and nicks little stella was given a great work out

Tom got smoked by something massive and only ever got half a wind on before the fish earnt its freedom

nice Tom

It pays off to hire the boat for just two of you and between the boys they caught over 70 fish on their trip - GO CUVIER!!

The next day it was back down to the Aldermens - the Aldy pins had to be looked at again with the forecast and Johnny and his boys wernt dissapointed, it was a little sloppy to be fair and not alot of pictures were taken, but the fish were chewing in the avo and all the boys ended up with plenty of tales.

Mike got the fish of the day on the Kilwell, a solid king that would have nudged 20kg

Orange guy stuck it out on the jig and the well used pink rocket, with only a hint of pink on it nailed this 18kg fish

Group shot on the wharf back at whiti - a solid 20-25 fish for thier efforts for the day in trying conditions, well done boys!!
