THE CHARTER FISHING EXPERIENCE
Russell and the Bay of Islands is home to some of the best game fishing in New Zealand. Our Skipper Kerry has been a commercial Fisherman in the region for decades and knows the location well. The big Senator 690 boat is customised and set up for one job alone- To catch big fish and it is equipped with the latest technology operated by some of the most well respected skippers in New Zealand.
We specialise in live baiting and jig fishing. You don’t have to be an expert and our skipper will guide you through the action. Species we target are the Yellowtail kingfish, Snapper, Hapuka and Bass. When the water temperatures are high we see the pelagics come in close and you can have a crack at them too.
Bay of Islands long term resident and legendary fisherman Kerry Gregory has joined the Epic team.

I wholeheartedly recommend Epic Adventure’s boat, KoroKing under the guidance of Skipper Kit. I didn’t get my snapper, but instead caught a 15kg Kingfish on my snapper-rig. I was jelly for 10 minutes after that. Thanks Kit and Epic Adventure. Chris
Was a sick days fishing, Captain Kit kept us on the fish all day, this is a must do experience, Joel
Thank you so much captain Kit! You did a well-done job this last Sunday! Unfortunately, I got smashed by a giant Kingfish, I hope next time it will be different!
Captain Kit really knows his stuff, went out with a mate targeting big game and Kingies on live baits, a thoughtfully enjoyable day out with a great captain on a great boat.
Plus Russell itself is really fantastic spot – great beach over the hill.
Would recommend to all.
We had a fabulous day out fishing with Epic Adventures and Captain Kit. He was really committed to helping us catch our first Kingis. All five on the boat including the women caught fish and it was just such an amazing and positive experience for us all. If you want to catch Kingis we can highly recommend Epic Adventures and Captain Kit. Maree
We had a truely Epic adventure with Captain Kit out from Russell. We all caught our first Kingfish and we cannot speak highly enough of our experience. We are already planning to come back next year. Thank you Epic Adventures for a truly amazing experience. Maree
Great time whole Kit and cabudle. Target species. Lots of fun. mark
Been waiting a very long time to fish for a kingfish in nz so I wanted to use a company that could deliver! I wasn’t disappointed. Epic couldn’t have been more helpful getting me a trip out of bay of islands aboard Koro king with Captain Kit! Me and my wife had a incredible day and one I will always remember, not only did we see dolphins and stopped to view them on the way out but we were then taken through the hole in the rock which we loved before we both caught our target species! Unfortunately we lost 4 big kingfish but landed a few smaller ones and some big snapper for tea! My wife doesn’t fish but by the time Captain Kit had gave her a crash course in kingfishing she was hooking more than me! Couldn’t praise him more for the patience he had with me and my wife and his knowledge was second to none! Thank you for a day I will not forget and I’ll be back soon as return to nz! Epic adventures.. sure is!!! cheers Jason
