With a early start on Thursday at 4am to make a way to whitianga from tuakau auckland we were surprised to make it there by 6. We stopped at the bakery to grab some lunch and waited down at the Mariana/boat ramp for the arrival of our boat. With a short meet and greet we headed out to catch our live bait. With our live bait tank full of yellowtail mackerel we were ready to head wide to catch the famous yellow tail kingfish. About 50mins later we were ready to drop our first baits with a quick tutorial from our skipper we were ready to get fishing . I did not expect to be railed by the first fish of the day that officially weighed 15.6kgs my new personal best .and absolutely wreaked my arms for the rest of trip with every drop of bait we were hooked on to hungry kingfish which actually made you nervous because your arms are actually so tired from fighting them in the first hour of the trip lol . We tried another spot and caught some snapper and pink moamoa to chuck in the bin . With a bin full of fish and some sore battered arms we headed back in . To our surprise our skipper stopped off and showed us some hidden caves and a little bit of sight seeing Before we were back on land and absolutely buggered from a hard days fishing . Thank you so much Epic Adventures! Two days later my arms and shoulders are still sore haha we will defiantly be back on your boat very soon . Cheers Rhys
